How is my battery
case sealed?
This depends on the type of battery that you are
purchasing or having rebuilt or recelled. Without divulging 19 years of trade
secrets:

Example: Premium Rebuild

Opening, Building, Installing, Closing, and Welding Your Logic ProPac,
Logic Digital ProPac, or Hytron 100/120:

If you are rough on your battery packs this new plastic welding technique is
for you. At Rathbone Energy our professional opening, closing, and
welding technique is a ten part
process. Seal: # 8

Your battery packs are cleaned.
-
The
Exterior Band which reads something like, "Anton Bauer" is removed
WITHOUT CUTTING THE BAND.
-
A
precise and special type cut is performed to open the case thus allowing
for a clean weld.
-
Old insert is
removed and secured for transporting to a battery recycle company.
Cost are incurred for disposal and freight of the old cores.

Secure several internal stress points
that were not OEM secured
-
Replace particular wires with heavier
AWG
and color code correct wire to prevent potential breakage if not already
broken
-
New inserts are
built and tested on sophisticated analyzers.
-
Insert is installed
into your existing wiring harness and tested.
-
After passing
initial test the open battery is placed on an Anton Bauer 2702
InterActive charger with DDM for testing.
-
After passing those test A special welder and correct accessories are
used to again seal the case securely and professionally.

Then the Exterior Band that reads something like, "Anton Bauer", is again
placed back around the battery case, usually looking better than when it
arrived for recell.

The battery pack
looks great, performs great, and is then packed and shipped back to you.

We receive your
many complimentary letters or emails, which for us, is a great reward.
This high tech plastic
welding technique is so strong we have to reopen the cases
just like a never before opened battery, and the cases can be
recelled over and over without loss of battery dimensions.

Rebuilding your dead Anton Bauer ProPac Standard:
-
We clean, sandblast, and powder cost your old metal band, install your
new insert, test the pack and screw the case back together.

We also look for cracks in the case and
reinforce those cracks with epoxy when appropriate.

Rebuilding your dead Anton Bauer Hytron 50:
-
This battery is very fragile with a high fail
rate.

Your battery packs are cleaned.
-
The case is
professionally opened.
-
Old insert is
removed and secured for transporting to a battery recycle company.
Cost are incurred for disposal and freight of the old cores.

New inserts are
built and tested on sophisticated analyzers.

Insert is installed
into your existing wiring harness and tested.

Your rebuilder should

If your battery pack, like many survey and
instrumentation packs, is a screw together pack we will
simply insert the screws and secure the case.

If your pack is very small like a Survey Lietz
BDC18 we will apply an industrial glue.
2. Example: Economy "Sack
and Save" Procedure.
Competitive RECELL / REFILL SERVICE. Chinese, Third
World, Toshiba, Energizer, or other Consumer Grade Cells Are Used. You
will not find our name on this one!

The

band saw cut is performed to open the case thus allowing for a clean
glue "Bonding".

Bonding is used
by amateur competitors and do it yourself catalog readers
-
Bonding usually
prevents the case from being rebuilt again
-
These people
usually chew up the wiring harness while cutting the case open.
We will not.
-
Old insert is
removed and secured for transporting to a battery recycle company.
Cost are incurred for disposal and freight of the old cores.

New inserts are
built with Chinese, Third World, Toshiba, Energizer, or other
Consumer Grade, "Name Brand", Press Negative and tested on sophisticated analyzers.

Insert is installed
into your existing wiring harness
- Test the individual Pin connectors for proper voltage
- Ship your newly recelled battery back to you
Digital Batteries with massive electronic components designed into the
circuit that have NO purpose but to force a segregated marriage between
their brand charger and their brand battery.

IMPORTANT:
It has been our
experience with these particular batteries that after all the above
checks are carefully finished, still, a large percentage of these
digital batteries, estimated at >60%, do NOT pass
the AB2707 with DDM Test's because they came in
with internal circuit board damage that can only be discovered after a
new insert is installed and we loose all the time consuming labor.
If the user had owned the OEM highest grade smart charger they would
have been aware because there would be a digital reading advising of the
final charge type that finished the battery charger.

Our
Rathbone Energy Lithium Ion
batteries are built differently:
- We have streamlined the internal circuitry of
our batteries and they to have built in protection circuitry to
ensure the highest degree of safety operation. They are
STILL Lithium Ion.
- By streamlining our batteries circuits we remove
unnecessary components that might be used to force someone's
battery to only work with one brand charger.
- Unnecessary components that have nothing to
do with the safety of the battery only increase the chance that
the battery will fail prematurely because of unnecessary
components being damaged when a battery is jolted or dropped.
